House of Gongs welcomed Sama Culture Bearer Al-Raffy Harun from Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi, along with NCCA Arts Commissioner Carlo Ebeo, for an insightful tour in Honolulu. This event celebrated the rich culture and art of the Sama people from Tawi-Tawi, highlighting the deep connections and similarities with the people of Hawaii. Al-Raffy captivated attendees with a demonstration and lecture on the Igal dance, while Carlo Ebeo provided an enlightening talk on the Sama Badjao way of life.
